“I learned to bake in Racine, Wisconsin at the age of thirteen. Then I worked as a night baker throughout high school. At the age of eighteen I was offered a manager’s position and became the district supervisor. By twenty-four I opened my first Bakery in Phoenix, Arizona, “The Muffin Man.” Ten years later I opened a bakery manufacturing plant in Surgeon Bay, Wisconsin. I moved south then to be with my father and opened BBQ Bob’s in Pelham, Georgia. It was three years later I opened the “Donut Shop” at Johnston’s!”
